Grass/Rocks/Seawater
GRS stands for Grass Rocks Seawater, and that remains the name of our pottery collection. All of the work is inspired by life on the prairies. next to the mountains, and feeling called to the ocean on the other side.
Work from GRS Ceramics is available for sale in Pincher Creek at the Lebel and Small Town Collective. Also in Nanton and Claresholm at the Hive. Work will also be for sale through this website as it becomes available. GRS Ceramics is a small batch producer and all pieces are unique.
The Haven Studio- Home of GRS Ceramics
Located in Okotoks on Woodhaven Dr, the Haven is the home studio space of GRS Ceramics. Some classes will be offered in this space before we open Slug in the Mud studios. This space is shared with a painter. Here you will enjoy a small intimate class with only 2-3 people in the home of Shannyn Dowsett.
*note there is a dog on premises so those with allergies should be aware.
The slug in the Mud studio - Community Studio coming in 2025 to Okotoks
Slugs love the mud, we love slugs, we want you to be as happy as a slug in the mud! This will be a community space available for classes, rentals, open working studio, retreats, and mental health workshops through ceramics.
Our founder Shannyn comes from an eclectic background and is starting this studio to help you embrace your creativity and start your own collection. She has been developing as an artist for 20 years and is knowledgeable in all sorts of media. She has been a potter for a few years and began selling work in 2024.
Use our studio to learn, to practice, to create, to socialize, to heal. All are welcome so come in and clay with us!
